The Awning and the All-Nighter

The Flamingess spent the last few days in the midst of a 37-foot learning experience. The opportunity to make a little extra money came along by painting signage on an awning. The fact that I'd never done this before was no deterent. It actually went pretty well, except my rather porous memory let one crucial piece of information slip through - a change in the delivery date. I was still putting the second coat on the lettering at the time the Awning Mavin was expecting to take possession. Since we missed the hand-off opportunity, we delivered the awning to her home at the end of this morning's delivery run.

Between the finishing of the sign painting and the delivery of the finished product we made three deliveries.

The order for this flock came in Monday. We already had the van loaded with the critters for the other two orders, and to say the van was full would be to understate things. So, we stuffed the birds into a big (really big) bag and crammed the bag in on top of the signs. We were able to carry the bag onto the lawn to do the set up. Saved a lot of trips from lawn to van. We may do that again.
Second stop to drop off the penguins.
Then the frogs. Too bad the picture doesn't show how great they look.

The whole route was Oakland to Alamo, to Livermore, to Redwood City, to Scotts Valley and then back to Oakland. We did it in just under 5 hours. That's why I'm writing this post while still in my nightshirt.

WOW! This looks like so much fun!!!
I live in the middle of the country where this sort of thing doesn't happen because no one can see your front door from the street - and the street is not highly traveled either, so... you know...

Thanks for dropping by my blog! I do hope you stop by again.
