Dancing in the Moonlight

I am fortunate to belong to a very special women's business network. Actually I belong to a few women's business networks, but one in particular is made up of some of the most amazing women it has been my priviledge to know. Last night we got together for a social function. Barbeque, hot tubbing, dancing barefoot in the grass, wine, more wine, and much getting to know each other conversation. I had hoped to be able to stay over (how long has it been since you've been to a slumber party?), but the good news/bad news was I had work. I stayed as long as I could (until I was sober enough to drive)and then headed back to the nest so we could deliver birthday greetings.

It may have been for the best (best for my liver anyway) that I had to go home. If I'd been able to stay and continue laughing, dancing, hot tubbing and swilling, uh, sipping wine, the hangover would made delivering this surprise a challenge. The Flamingess isn't as young as she used to be and doesn't recover as fast as she used to.

You have to love waking up in the morning and finding that someone has "flamingoed" you!

Here from Michele!

OMG...this reminds me of a story someone told me about a neighbor who had flamingos that they dressed up for holidays and seasons and whatnot. One day, a huge preying mantis showed up on the other side of their lawn. Every day, it advanced until it reached the flamingos...then one by one, the flamingos disappeared (some found gripped by the mantis or in its jaws) until they were all gone and they never appeared again. I'm here from Michele's today, hope you're having a good weekend!
